Microelectronics & Photonics Research and Manufacturing

We have been working in the fields of microelectronics, optoelectronics and photonics for more than two decades. Some of our accomplishments in these fields are:

• Working for an ISO 9001 registered semiconductor company, implementation of a manufacturable thin-film deposition process for producing high-dielectric ceramic thin-films, a process that was used in the manufacture of a substantial quantity of final sold goods.

• As Project and Production Manager for a small aerospace company, developing and commercializing a low-cost, miniaturized photonic component for a large, US-based, ISO 9000 registered company.  We established a production facility for this component, which passed the customer’s quality audit with no recommended changes.

• The study of ohmic contact properties of various metal electrode materials that had been e-beam and sputter deposited onto the III-V semiconducting material indium phosphide.  This work was part of a larger project designed to demonstrate high-speed data transfer to homes using fiber-optic technologies, many years before the development of the Internet.

• We have been responsible for evaluation and purchase of numerous semiconductor production tools.  In addition, we have participated in the design of several class 1000 clean rooms to be used for electronics and photonics manufacturing.
